Space-Time Cascaded Processing-Based Adaptive Transient Interference Mitigation for Compact HFSWR

In high-frequency (HF) radar systems, transient interference is a common phenomenon that dramatically degrades the performance of target detection and remote sensing. Up until now, various suppression algorithms have been proposed. They mainly concentrate on skywave over-the-horizon basis assumption sparse in coherent processing interval (CPI). However, HF surface wave (HFSWR) often faces more complex due to extreme types weather, such as thunderstorm typhoon, etc. The above usually suffer dramatic loss when contaminates enormously continuous parts CPI. Especially for compact HFSWR, which suffers from severe beam broadening fewer array degrees freedom. order solve problem, this study developed two-dimensional algorithm based space-time cascaded processing. First, according spatial correlation array, statistical samples main-lobe are estimated using rotating method. Next, an adaptive selection strategy obtain optimal secondary information geometry distance. Finally, quadratic constraint approximation, precise estimation method weight covariance matrix singular. experimental results simulation measured data demonstrate proposed approach provides far superior performance.
